DiGenova doubles down: ‘Heading for very SAD ENDING for several FBI, DOJ officials’ over FISA, Team Trump abuses (Video)

(National SentinelCriminals: Former U.S. attorney for the D.C. District Joe diGenova told Fox News‘ Sean Hannity Wednesday evening that he believes several current and former FBI and Justice Department officials involved in abusing the system in order to spy on President Donald J. Trump’s campaign are going to jail.

In what he called the “largest” federal law enforcement scandal in the history of the country, diGenova said it will be a “sad day” soon for those involved.

“We are heading toward a very sad ending for the FBI and senior DOJ officials. [Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew] McCabe is gone because [FBI Director Christopher] Wray knows what’s in the other emails and other texts,” he said, referring to communications between anti-Trump elements of the DOJ and FBI that have recently been revealed.

“The investigation that is underway is going to lead to criminal charges against a number of people,” diGenova predicted. “What you are seeing coming out now in the text messages is just the minimum of what is available now to DOJ officials… I believe that several high FBI officials will be charged criminally.”

He added: “This is the largest law enforcement scandal in history for this reason. The activity for McCabe and others, and [Justice Department official] Bruce Ohr and others, were designed to subvert the Constitution and a national election – the most serious offense under our Constitution.”

Last week the House Intelligence Committee released a four-page “FISA memo” detailing serial abuses by elements of the Obama FBI and DOJ of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court in order to obtain surveillance warrants against a one-time member of Trump’s campaign, Carter Page.

The memo noted that the FBI relied on “dossier” compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele containing salacious allegations against Trump and members of his campaign.

The FBI reportedly failed to vet the dossier before using it as Exhibit A in order to obtain the surveillance warrant from the FISC.

It BEGINS: GOP lawmaker calls for Comey, McCabe, others TIED to FISA memo abuse to be JAILED for ‘FISA court fraud’

(National SentinelConspiracy: A Republican lawmaker is calling for former and current ranking FBI and Justice Department officials to be indicted for their role in committing “fraud” against the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court following the release of the FISA Memo.

U.S. Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, a former judge himself, said that former FBI Director James Comey, former deputy director Andrew McCabe, Justice Department official Bruce Ohr should face prison for using what they knew to be a political document — the notorious “Trump dossier” — in order to secure a FISC warrant to allow the bureau to spy on the Trump campaign.

As reported by The Daily Caller:

A FISA court judge has grounds to hold Department of Justice officials including Bruce Ohr in contempt of court for making misrepresentations about the sources of information used to obtain a surveillance warrant against a Trump associate, a former judge and Republican congressman said.

“I think it’s important to know who the FISA judge was, and why with all the info he’s had for some time, he has not put anyone in jail for committing fraud on his court,” Gohmert, who serves on the Committee on the Judiciary, told the news site.

“You shouldn’t be able to get quotes from Bruce Ohr or [former FBI Director Jim] Comey or [deputy director Andrew] McCabe because they ought to be sitting in jail for committing fraud upon the court,” he said.

The FISA memo was released at noon on Friday, revealing serial abuses of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court by upper echelon officials in the FBI and Justice Department to prevent Donald J. Trump from becoming president, and to undermine him after he defeated Hillary Clinton in November 2016.

Per Fox News, as many suspected, the discredited and unverified “Trump dossier” was used not once but on three separate occasions to secure a FISA court surveillance warrant to allow the Obama administration to spy on Team Trump during his campaign.

In addition, Hillary Clinton, U.S. media outlets, and ranking officials within DOJ and FBI including former FBI Director James Comey, former deputy director Andrew McCabe, and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein were all aware that the dossier was a political document, not a serious piece of intelligence work, the memo explains.

As Fox News reported further, the four-page memo [which you can read here] also “includes testimony from a high-ranking government official who says without the infamous Trump dossier, the FBI and DOJ would not have secured surveillance warrants to spy on at least one member of the Trump team.”

The dossier was commissioned by opposition research firm Fusion GPS, who hired former British spy Christopher Steele to compile it. The dossier was paid for in large part by the Democratic National Committee and the Hillary Clinton campaign.

Ohr’s wife went to work for Fusion as the dossier was being compiled and disseminated throughout the Washington media.

The memo said “Ohr’s wife was employed by Fusion GPS to assist in the cultivation of opposition research on Trump. Ohr later provided the FBI with all of his wife’s opposition research, paid for by the DNC and Clinton campaign via Fusion GPS. The Ohrs’ relationship with Steele and Fusion GPS was inexplicably concealed from the” court when it was used to obtain a surveillance warrant.

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., who criticized the memo’s release, also gave a copy of it to the FBI.

Gohmert said that the FISA court judge shouldn’t find any of this acceptable.

“This was an action by the DNC and known collusion with top officials at the DOJ and FBI to commit a fraud upon the FISA court,” he added.

But he also noted that the FISA court judge’s own actions ought to be examined more closely.

“The judge has to have known for months now that he or she had a fraud committed against them and he or she has done nothing,” he said.

“Any judge worth any salt would have called them in for hearings, and he can even order anyone who committed fraud upon the court to go to jail. This judge is either worthless or is in cahoots with those who manipulated it.”

While attorneys can be sanctioned by bar associations for fraud upon the court, judges can also hold attorneys in contempt of court for such violations, said Gohmert.

DEAL with DoJ gives House Intel Chair Nunes access to ALL documents, witnesses, in Russia witch-hunt collusion probe

(National SentinelWinning: A deal between House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., and the Trump Justice Department struck on Thursday will give investigators access to “all remaining investigative documents” in an unredacted form that the panel has been seeking as part of its Russia probe.

The deal was revealed in a letter between Nunes and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein that was obtained by Fox News.

The letter was sent by Nunes to Rosenstein and it summarizes an “agreement” that had been reached during a phone call Wednesday evening. The letter also notes that key FBI and Justice Department witnesses will now be provided to the Intelligence Committee later in January.

“It is my hope that this agreement will provide the Committee with all outstanding documents and witnesses necessary to complete its investigations,” Nunes wrote.

Fox News reported further:

The agreement comes after the DOJ and FBI faced a Wednesday deadline to comply, under the threat of new subpoenas and even contempt citations. Under deadline pressure, FBI Director Christopher Wray and Rosenstein met Wednesday with House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., to discuss the demands from the intelligence committee.

Nunes’ letter outlines the terms of the deal reached, as he continues looking for information that helps prove or disprove whether the controversial anti-Trump “dossier” was used as justification to open the Russia probe and conduct surveillance on Trump campaign officials.

After more than a year-and-a-half, no one in the media, in government or in Congress has been able to verify the dossier’s most explosive and salacious claims about President Donald J. Trump and his campaign team.

Republicans on the committee have also expressed concerns that the dossier was paid for by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee.

In his letter, the Intelligence Committee chairman said that the panel is “extremely concerned by indications that top U.S. Government officials who were investigating a presidential campaign relied on unverified information that was funded by the opposing political campaign and was based on Russian sources.”

Initially, Nunes issued subpoenas for all related records on Aug. 24, and they remain in effect.

However, the committee has been stonewalled by the Justice Department and FBI for months.

According to the agreement between Nunes and Rosenstein, the House panel will also get access to eight key witnesses, Fox News reported, “including FBI agent Peter Strzok, FBI lawyer Lisa Page, who exchanged anti-Trump text messages during an affair and previously worked on the special counsel’s Russia probe; FBI general counsel James Baker, who was reassigned; FBI head of counterintelligence Bill Priestap, whom ex-FBI boss James Comey testified made the decision not to brief Congress about the Russia case during last year’s election; and Bruce Ohr, a DOJ official reassigned after concealing meetings with figures involved in the dossier.”

All witnesses are tied directly to allegations of political bias against the president.

Rep. Jordan: SWAMP creatures McCabe, Strzok and Ohrs will be subpoenaed THIS WEEK (Video)

(National SentinelDeep State: During an appearance on Fox News’ Judge Janine Pirro’s “Justice” program Saturday evening, Rep. Jim Jordan claimed that the House Judiciary Committee plans to issue subpoenas to FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, agent Peter Strzok, and Department of Justice official Bruce Ohr and his wife and former Fusion GPS employee Nellie Ohr next week.

The Ohio Republican, who is a member of the committee, has been extremely critical of their involvement in what appears to be a plot to undermine or depose President Donald J. Trump prior to his November 2016 election victory.

He said the subpoenas were part of the committee’s “ongoing inquiry into claims of bias against President Donald Trump.”

As Politico reported, Republicans on the panel have begun to focus on McCabe, Strzok — who is a top counterintelligence agent — FBI attorney Lisa Page, who was Strzok’s mistress, and Ohrs, especially Nellie Ohr after discovering she worked for the opposition research firm that produced the discredited “Trump dossier.”

Earlier reports noted that the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee financed the dossier, in large part.

“Chairman [Bob] Goodlatte has told us he is going to subpoena those individuals,” Jordan told Pirro.

Politico reported further:

Republicans have focused on Strzok with greater intensity in recent days, after the Justice Department released a series of text messages he sent to Page in 2016 that showed hostility toward Trump.

Democrats on the panel have dismissed the Republicans’ efforts as nothing but political theater. They also say there is no evidence that Strzok, Page, McCabe and others acted on any of their anti-Trump bias.

But GOP members point out that Strzok was a key investigator in the Hillary Clinton private email scandal, and that he was also tapped earlier this year to join special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of alleged Team Trump “collusion” with Russia.

Finally, Republicans further note that Strzok was the one who changed then-FBI Director James Comey’s July 5, 2016, press statement exonerating Clinton from “gross negligence” — a term with distinct legal implications — to “extremely careless,” a term not found in classified handling statutes.

Mueller dropped him from the probe over the summer after learning of texts that discussed an “insurance policy” against a Trump victor.

As for McCabe, the discussion appears to have taken place in his office. Bruce Ohr, formerly a high-ranking DoJ official, was demoted after it was learned he had contacts with Fusion GPS during last year’s presidential campaign.

Also appearing with Pirro was Rep. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla, who also hinted he may seek contempt citations for FBI Director Chris Wray and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein if they fail to turn over more documents related to congressional inquiries.

Jordan said that recent developments and reports indicate plainly that there were forces at work within the Obama Justice Department and FBI to thwart President Donald J. Trump.

“President Trump won in spite of the Republican establishment being against him, the Democrats being against him, the elite media being against him and the FBI and Justice Department being against him,” Jordan said.

FBI’s McCabe abruptly cancels appearance before House Intel Committee; ‘something far more sinister’; subpoena coming

(National SentinelCover-up: FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe abruptly canceled an appearance before the House Intelligence Committee on Monday, reportedly over concerns he would be asked about the wife of recently-demoted Justice Department official Bruce Ohr after reports surfaced that she used to work for Fusion GPS.

Investigators with the House committee confirmed to Fox News that Nellie H. Ohr  worked for the opposition research firm last year. That’s during the same time Fusion GPS was contracting with the Clinton campaign, the DNC, and a former British spy to produce the infamous but unsubstantiated “Trump dossier.”

Fox News reported further:

Fusion GPS has attracted scrutiny because Republican lawmakers have spent the better part of this year investigating whether the dossier, which was funded by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee, served as the basis for the Justice Department and the FBI to obtain FISA surveillance last year on a Trump campaign adviser named Carter Page.

“The House Intelligence Committee is looking into all facets of the connections between the Department of Justice and Fusion GPS, including Mr. Ohr,” Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., told Fox News in a statement on Monday.

Reporter Chad Pergram tweeted out a series of additional facts surrounding McCabe, the committee investigation, and the Ohr’s.

“FBI’s McCabe was expected to appear before Hse to Intel Cmte Tues. Now told he’s not coming. Expect subpoenas to compel McCabe to appear this wk. Source: “McCabe has an Ohr problem” he wrote.

“Congressional sources tell Fox they believe FBI DepDir McCabe not coming to Hse Intel Cmte tomorrow because he’d be asked about Bruce Ohr & Ohr’s wife Nellie who worked for Fusion GPS. something far more sinister,” he continued.

“Fox is told Hse Intel Cmte will likely subpoena FBI DepDir McCabe to appear this wk. In addition, will subpoena documents/emails related to McCabe’s appearance,” added Pergram.

“Source tells Fox they think McCabe scheduling snafu before Hse Intel arose after Fox rpt tonight about wife of DoJ’s Bruce Ohr. Nellie Ohr worked for Fusion GPS thru last fall. Firm is connected to anti-Trump dossier,” he continued.

Fox News‘ James Rosen added:

Until Dec. 6, when Fox News began making inquiries about him, Bruce Ohr held two titles at DOJ. He was, and remains, director of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force; but his other job was far more senior. Mr. Ohr held the rank of associate deputy attorney general, a post that gave him an office four doors down from Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. The day before Fox News reported that Mr. Ohr held his secret meetings last year with the founder of Fusion GPS, Glenn Simpson, and with Christopher Steele, the former British spy who compiled the dossier, the Justice Department stripped Ohr of his deputy title and ousted him from his fourth floor office at the building that DOJ insiders call “Main Justice.”

So far, officials with the AG Jeff Sessions’ Justice Department have not said why Ohr was demoted.

BOMBSHELL: Top DoJ lawyer DEMOTED as probe of his contacts with Trump dossier firm begins

(National SentinelSwamp Corruption: A top official in the Justice Department was demoted earlier this week as an investigation continues into his contacts with a Democrat-aligned political opposition research firm responsible for the creation of the infamous anti-Trump “dossier,” Fox News reports.

Before Wednesday morning, Bruce G. Ohr held a pair of titles at the department — associate deputy attorney general, a position that placed him just four doors down from his boss, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein; and director of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces, or OCDETF, which is described by DoJ as “the centerpiece of the attorney general’s drug strategy.

For now, Ohr retains his drug task force title but has been stripped of his higher title and post while being ousted from his office on the fourth floor of “Main Justice.”

At first, senior Justice Department officials could not provide a reason for Ohr’s demotion.

However, Fox News discovered that evidence gathered by the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, which is chaired by Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., points to a meeting during the 2016 campaign between Ohr and Christopher Steele, the former British spy who wrote the “dossier.”

Later, a Justice Department official told Fox News: “It is unusual for anyone to wear two hats as he has done recently. This person is going to go back to a single focus—director of our organized crime and drug enforcement unit. As you know, combating transnational criminal organizations and drug trafficking is a top priority for the attorney general.”

While that may true, House investigators have also determined that Ohr met with Glenn Simpson, founder of the firm Fusion GPS, shortly after the Nov. 8, 2016 election. Fusion is the firm that hired Steele to create the dossier, which has been largely debunked but which may have been used by Obama’s FBI and Justice Department to justify opening a counterintelligence probe into President Donald J. Trump’s campaign last year, likely in order to thwart his chances of beating Hillary Clinton.

What’s also noteworthy is that the dossier was funded in large part by the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee.

The House Intelligence Committee, under Nunes, has been investigating for the better portion of a year to determine if the dossier was in fact used to justify FBI and intelligence community surveillance on the campaign of Clinton’s political rival.

Fox News reported that it was not yet clear how Simpson and Ohr came to know one another. However, initial evidence collected by House Intelligence Committee investigators suggests that both men were put in touch with one another by Steele, who is a former FBI informant and who has had contacts with Ohr dating back to 2006, according to senior DoJ officials.

Meanwhile, Nunes — who has told intelligence committee staff to draw up contempt-of-Congress citations against Rosenstein and FBI Director Christopher Wray ahead of a House vote over whether to enforce them — has issued a fresh subpoena on Thursday for more records belonging to and covering Ohr.
