Dreamer to DEMS: ‘Stop using us a PAWNS’ as he praises TRUMP’s immigration leadership

(National SentinelIdentity Politics: “Dreamer” Hilario Yanez complimented President Donald J. Trump for his leadership during an interview on Fox News Saturday while chastising the Democratic Party for using him and others like him as political “pawns.”

“At the end of the day, here’s a guy who wants to provide a pathway to citizenship for myself and, you know, really make a difference in my life,” Yanez said of the president.

“I’m for that. Also, I believe we need to have border security so this doesn’t happen again,” he added.

“And if a wall is necessary to provide another layer for border security to do their job in a safe and responsible manner, then, you know, I think it’s necessary to fund it,” he continued.

“The diversity lottery — I think it’s outdated, I think it’s time for people who want to come to the United States to focus on skills so they can contribute to the American economy,” Yanez said.

He also blasted Democrats, saying he is “frustrated” by their unwillingness to work with the president on his immigration reform plans while using people like him as political “pawns.”

“The Democratic leadership, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer, really have no clear message,” he argued. “We have been confused, I think at the end of the day they have been using us as pawns.”

“We should have never shut down the government over DACA. We should have never held our American people and our military hostage,” he said, noting that Democrats opted not to solve the DACA problem when they had control of Congress.

DACA refers to Deferred Action on Childhood Arrivals, a program implemented via executive order by President Obama in 2012. The order was set to be challenged by about a dozen states as an unconstitutional change to immigration law before Trump rescinded it in September.

He gave Congress six months to come up with a legislative fix for the program. That deadline is March 5.

Yanez said he is proud to be in the United States and would “do anything to serve this country, to die for this country.”

“All I need is a chance,” he concluded.

If Congress doesn’t pass DACA legalization, then Dreamers will…LEAVE

(National SentinelAdios, America: A group of so-called “Dreamers” — illegal aliens brought to the U.S. as children by their parents — is threatening to self-deport if Congress fails to pass legislation legalizing their presence inside the country.

In an interview with CNN, one of the Dreamers, Alex Velez, said, “I will leave. I will leave America as soon as possible,” claiming that she would prefer to depart the country on her own terms than wait for the United States to collect and deport her.

She and others like her believe that by self-deporting their absence will be noticed by Americans and missed.

“Velez and her sister claim they own businesses, pay tuition, and hold jobs, and that America has a duty to keep them here in order to maintain their contributions,” The Daily Wire reported.

Both girls are from Venezuela, a country that is currently collapsing under the Marxist regime of President Nicolas Maduro.

President Obama implemented the Dreamers plan — formally known as Deferred Action on Childhood Arrivals, or DACA — in September by executive order. Critics at the time decried the order, claiming it was an unconstitutional change to immigration law, which only Congress can do.

As many as 10 states lined up to challenge DACA in federal court. As such, President Donald J. Trump rescinded the order in September and gave Congress six months to come up with a legislative fix.

That deadline is March 5.

Trump to DEMS on DACA: ‘Blame, complain, obstruct!’

(National SentinelImmigration Deformed: President Donald J. Trump on Thursday tweeted out a reminder to Congress that the March 5 deadline he gave them to come up with a legislative fix to the Obama-era Deferred Action on Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program is fast approaching.

In a tweet, the president also laid the blame for the lack of a deal squarely on Democrats.

“March 5th is rapidly approaching and the Democrats are doing nothing about DACA. They Resist, Blame, Complain and Obstruct – and do nothing. Start pushing Nancy Pelosi and the Dems to work out a DACA fix, NOW!” he tweeted.

https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/959031505145212928

The White House has offered a plan that provides a 12-year path to citizenship for some DACA recipients, but also calls for $25 billion for the president’s border wall, ends so-called “chain migration” and scraps the Visa lottery program, replacing it with a merit-based system.

Democrats have rejected the plan out of hand. They have decried its long-term cuts to the immigration system and pledging not to allocate funds for a border wall.

Trump has repeatedly said, however, that without border wall funding and other provisions, he won’t approve any DACA legislation that would give those recipients citizenship.

In a single tweet, Trump BLOWS AWAY entire Dem narrative on DACA

(National SentinelImmigration Deformed: Last week the White House announced an immigration reform plan that would include eventual citizenship for some 1.8 million people, most of whom remain in the country illegally under a policy implemented by President Obama.

The plan hasn’t been well-received by many of President Donald J. Trump’s supporters because it appears to go against pledges he made during his campaign to deport people in the country illegally.

But Trump on Saturday tweeted out his rationale for allowing the so-called “DACA” recipients a lengthy path to citizenship: It would remove a key wedge issue Democrats have long used to extract concessions from Republicans.

“I have offered DACA a wonderful deal, including a doubling in the number of recipients & a twelve year pathway to citizenship, for two reasons: (1) Because the Republicans want to fix a long time terrible problem. (2) To show that Democrats do not want to solve DACA, only use it!” Trump tweeted.

That said, the president isn’t offering something for nothing. His plan includes $25 billion in funding for his proposed border wall; an end to chain migration; and an end to the diversity visa lottery program.

Obama, via executive order, implemented the DACA program in June 2012. Trump rescinded it in September, giving Congress six months to come up with a legislative fix.

Trump said at the time he believed the program violated the Constitution.

Dems cry ‘RACISM’ over White House DACA compromise bill; multicultural MAJORITY of voters cry ‘WE WANT IT’

(National SentinelTone Deaf: A majority of Democrats have already come out against what is being billed as a potential “DACA compromise” from the White House that the administration believes will be enough to get the plan over the Senate’s 60-vote filibuster threshold.

But a number of Democrats have accused the plan of being racist, authored by “white supremacists” in the administration.

“Let’s call this proposal for what it is: a white supremacist ransom note,” United We Dream, the largest “immigrant youth network” in the country,  said in a statement. “Trump and [White House aide] Stephen Miller killed DACA and created the crisis that immigrant youth are facing. They have taken immigrant youth hostage, pitting us against our own parents, Black immigrants and our communities in exchange for our dignity.”

“It would be far cheaper to erect a 50-foot concrete statue of a middle finger and point it towards Latin America,” tweeted racialist Trump critic Rep. Luis Gutierrez of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Thursday afternoon. “Both a wall and the statue would be equally offensive and equally ineffective and both would express Trump’s deeply held suspicion of Latinos.”

But those opinions are far outside of those held by a majority of Americans, regardless of ethnicity.

Survival gear

The Daily Caller reported:

A Harvard-Harris poll released earlier this week found that 81 percent of voters support reducing annual immigration from its current level of more than 1 million per year, including 63 percent who want it cut by at least half.

Nearly 70 percent of all voters think the green card lottery, which randomly allots 50,000 immigrant visas to people from countries with low immigration to the U.S., is a bad idea. That figure includes 62 percent of Democratic voters, 61 percent of Hispanic voters, and 57 percent of black voters, according to the Harvard-Harris Poll.

As for border security, the administration’s proposal to build a physical wall along the entire U.S.-Mexico border has struggled to crack 50 percent support among all voters. But a majority of voters — 54 percent — support building a “combination of physical and electronic barriers” across the southwest border. That description lines up with the public statements of top administration officials, including Trump himself, who have conceded that a contiguous border wall is not necessary.

Finally, rolling all of the border security and immigration reforms into a deal that gives DACA recipients a path to citizenship, as the White House immigration framework does, is an overwhelmingly popular plan. The Harvard-Harris poll found that two-thirds of all voters favor such a deal, including 68 percent of Hispanic voters and 64 percent of black voters.

Reports have noted that President Donald J. Trump is supportive of the plan, which would allow DACA recipients to “morph” into citizens over a decade. But there’s no indication yet what the final legislation would look like.

Trump’s plan for ‘some’ DACA recipients: ‘Morph’ into citizens but NOT quickly

(National SentinelImmigration Reform: President Donald J. Trump appeared to soften his tone toward so-called “Dreamers” on Wednesday, suggesting to reporters that he would back a plan that would allow some of them to “morph” into citizens over a period of years.

“We’re going to morph into it, it’s going to happen over a period of 10-12 years,” Trump said, when asked if an immigration deal will include a pathway to citizenship for the illegal immigrants previously covered under the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) amnesty program.

“If somebody’s worked hard, if they’ve done a great job, it gives you an incentive to do a great job,” Trump said. “They’ve worked hard, They’ve done terrifically, whether they have a little company, or whether they work, whatever they’re doing, if they done a great job, I think it’s a nice thing to have the incentive after a period of time to become a citizen.”

Trump signed an executive order in September countermanding President Obama’s EO establishing the program. He gave Congress six months to come up with a legislative fix.

Reports have said that a bipartisan Senate plan to offer full citizenship to DACA recipients on a much quicker timeframe that also did not include enough concrete border security measures was rejected out-of-hand by the president.

Trump said when he signed his order last fall that he empathized with DACA Dreamers, but that Congress should have been permitted to address the issue via legislation, not through presidential executive action.

Obama’s EO was set to be challenged by nearly a dozen states as unconstitutional before Trump ended the program.

A federal judge in the liberal Ninth Circuit has since issued a stay, banning Trump’s order  from taking effect until lawsuits aimed at keeping DACA in place work their way through federal courts.

“Terming the government’s decision to end DACA ‘arbitrary and capricious’ and based on a flawed legal premise, Judge William Alsup ordered that the program must continue to renew applications from those previously covered until lawsuits regarding those affected are resolved, even though new applications for Dreamer status did not have to be processed,” Jurist reported.

But on Wednesday, the U.S. Supreme Court granted the Department of Justice’s request for an expedited review of the lower court’s order.

As for Trump’s overall approach to immigration, reform advocates have praised his administration’s ongoing efforts to crack down on others in the country illegally and to rein in sanctuary cities.

Trump TROLLS ‘Cryin’ Chuck’ after DEM embarrassment over #SchumerShutdown: ‘No wall, NO DACA’

(National SentinelPresidential: On Tuesday, President Donald J. Trump took to Twitter to take a swipe at Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and press for funding for his acclaimed border wall.

“Cryin’ Chuck Schumer fully understands, especially after his humiliating defeat, that if there is no Wall, there is no DACA,” Trump wrote. “We must have safety and security, together with a strong Military, for our great people!”

https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/956015565776277510

The president did not mention the other White House immigration reform principles which include an end to chain migration and the end of the visa lottery program.

The administration declared the Senate Flake/Graham/Durbin amnesty bill “dead on arrival” yesterday as well. However, officials said they were open to a bill that addressed their three top priorities on immigration.

“The President has laid out exactly what he wants to see, and he’s laid out the principles that need to be addressed for a piece of legislation that he’s actually willing to sign,” White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders told reporters.

However, Schumer no longer appears interested in making a deal. His office said Tuesday he had withdrawn a previous offer to agree to some funding for Trump’s proposed border wall.

Republican Study Group wants this DACA bill, but it’s the one DEMOCRATS will HATE the MOST

(National SentinelImmigration Deformed: The 150-member Republican Study Committee is pushing House Speaker Paul Ryan of Wisconsin to hold a vote on a bill involving illegal immigrations currently covered under provisions of the Obama-era Deferred Action on Childhood Arrivals policy, or DACA.

But it’s likely the one bill Democrats will oppose the most.

As reported by The Daily Caller, the measure, authored by Rep. Bob Goodlatte, will grant legal status to certain younger illegal immigrants in exchange for a host of conservative immigration reforms.

They include: Funding for President Donald J. Trump’s border wall; limits on chain migration; and an end to the diversity visa lottery, which critics say favors unskilled poor over skilled foreigners who can contribute better to American society.

The bill has emerged as a White House favorite. The RSC’s steering panel voted to support the measure and is now calling for a full floor vote.

“The Securing America’s Future Act is the framework to strengthen border security, increase interior enforcement and resolve the DACA situation,” the steering committee said in a statement, according to CNN.

“We believe an eventual stand alone floor vote is essential. We oppose any process for a DACA solution that favors a backroom deal with Democrats over regular order in the House,” the RSC said.

The House measure comes as moderate Republicans and Democrats work out a deal of their own on DACA in the upper chamber that isn’t likely to pass muster with the White House.

As a compromise for Democratic support for a three-week government funding bill, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., agreed to open floor debate on DACA if a deal is not made in the next government funding bill due Feb. 8.

As TheDC reported further:

The Securing America’s Future Act — authored by GOP Reps. Bob Goodlatte of Virginia, Mike McCaul of Texas, Raul Labrador of Idaho and Martha McSally of Arizona — goes beyond the Trump administration’s DACA demands and tacks on mandatory e-Verify, punishments for sanctuary cities, tighter asylum standards, and significant cuts to legal immigration levels. It has been endorsed by groups that favor tighter limits on immigration, such as the Center for Immigration Studies and Numbers USA.

The bill does not have backing from some moderate House GOP members because it doesn’t offer a path to citizenship for DACA recipients, just renewable legal status.

“North Carolina Rep. Mark Walker, who leads the RSC, says the bill will likely need some modifications to get to a majority of 218 votes. But he believes House leadership should use it as a starting point for DACA negotiations,” TheDC reported.

Trump celebrates DEMOCRAT cave-in over govt. shutdown WITHOUT deal for DACA: ‘Only if it’s good for America’

(National SentinelMoving On: President Donald J. Trump praised Democrats for voting in favor of a three-week government funding extension to reopen a shuttered federal government, but warned that no “Dreamers” deal would be made unless it benefitted the country.

“I am pleased that Democrats in Congress have come to their senses and are now willing to fund our great military, border patrol, first responders, and insurance for vulnerable children,” Trump said in a statement released by the White House.

He added that he would continue working with lawmakers on an immigration reform measure that dealt with so-called DACA recipients, but only if Democrats agreed to his terms.

“We will make a long-term deal on immigration if, and only if, it is good for our country,” he said.

The White House revealed that Trump met with Senate Republicans to discuss “responsible” immigration reform after the Senate voted to fund the government.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders DESTROYS Chuck Schumer, press, over ‘OUTRAGEOUS’ claims that prez is a ‘racist’

(National SentinelHitting Back: White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was clearly agitated on Tuesday over the establishment media’s continued accusations that President Donald J. Trump is racist.

In addition, Sanders took a swipe at Democrats including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York for making s similar unsubstantiated claim.

During the daily press conference on Tuesday, Fox News reporter John Roberts questioned Sanders saying, “(Schumer) said last night ‘Mr. President show you’re not a racist, cut a deal on DACA.’”

Roberts noted that Schumer is clearly trying to use Trump’s alleged remarks about African countries being “sh–holes” — which the president and others have refuted — as a point of leverage.

“Look, I think that it is an outrageous claim,” Sanders shot back. “Frankly, I think if the critics of the president were who he said he was, why did NBC give him a show for a decade on TV?”

“Why did Chuck Schumer and all his colleagues come and beg Donald Trump for money?” she continued, referencing their successful attempts to convince Trump to financially support their campaigns in the past.

“If they are who they want to try to portray him as, why did they want to be with him for years and years in various activities, whether it was events and fundraisers and other things?” Sanders continued. “I think it’s just an outrageous and ludicrous excuse.”

She noted further, “It’s a sad day for our country. They’re willing to throw away the progress and negotiations and not make big steps that we need to happen, whether it’s funding our military, supporting our government or making a deal on DACA, which they say is a huge priority, something they want to do.”

Trump has blamed Democrats for refusing to work with him and Republicans to come up with a viable immigration bill compromise regarding so-called “Dreamers.”

Their turn: Top DEM threatens govt. shutdown if illegal alien DACA recipients aren’t given PATH to citizenship

(National SentinelThreat: During President Obama’s tenure, Democrats once chastised Republicans for allegedly being responsible for a government shutdown over their refusal to agree to spending increases.

GOP lawmakers were widely criticized by Democrats and the establishment media over the 16-day shutdown, receiving the lion’s share of the blame.

Now, a top Democrat is threatening another government closure if an immigration reform bill lawmakers are debating does not contain a provision to legalize some 800,000-1 million illegal aliens protected from deportation under an Obama-era executive order.

Rep. John Lewis, D-Ga., told ABC News‘ “This Week” on Sunday, “I, for one, will not vote on government funding until we get a deal for DACA,” the acronym for the Obama program, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals.

In September, President Donald J. Trump rescinded the order and gave Congress six months to fix it.

Last week, a federal court in the U.S. Ninth District issued a temporary order barring Trump’s rescinding order from taking effect, but that decision is widely expected to be overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court at some point.

Here is Lewis on yesterday’s This Week program:

DACA was initiated via executive order by Obama in June 2012. At the time it was heavily criticized by Republicans and a number of state attorneys general as an unconstitutional move by the Executive Branch to unilaterally change immigration law.

But several Democrat-run states sued the administration over its lifting of DACA, and last week, U.S. District Judge William Alsup in San Francisco, part of the oft-overturned Ninth Circuit, blocked the order.

A recently leaked memo from the Democratic Party indicates that party strategy moving forward is to ensure that as many illegal aliens as possible receive citizenship because it is believed most of them will vote for Democratic candidates.

The memo, co-written by former Clinton communications director Jennifer Palmieri, was distributed to allies who are calling on congressional Democrats to “refuse to offer any votes for Republican spending bills that do not offer a fix for Dreamers and instead appropriate funds to deport them.”

“The fight to protect Dreamers is not only a moral imperative, it is also a critical component of the Democratic Party’s future electoral success,” reads Palmieri’s memo.

STATS: Non-citizens committing disproportionate share of federal CRIMES; NO on DACA

(National Sentinel‘Illegal’ Immigrants: A newly released report from an immigration reform group found that illegal aliens account for an outsized portion of all federal crimes, lending further support to critics of Democrats’ push to legalize DACA recipients.

The Center for Immigration Studies, which advocates for a reduction in legal immigration and pushes for assimilation of the current immigrant population in the U.S., said it found that of those convicted of federal crimes between 2011 and 2016, 44.2 percent were not U.S. citizens.

If immigration crimes are excluded, 21 percent of convicts were not U.S. citizens – 2.5 times the non-citizen share of the population, CIS analysts — who relied on U.S. Sentencing Commission data — said.

“These new numbers show that, at least at the federal level, non-citizens are more likely to commit crimes than non-citizens,” Dr. Steven Camarota, the center’s director of research and author of the analysis, said.

“Of course, it is hard to speak unequivocally about immigrant crime in general as states and localities do not systematically track the country of birth, citizenship, or legal status of those they arrest, convict, or incarcerate,” he noted further.

He said that most lawbreaking occurs at the state and local level, and as such, it’s not practical to simply extrapolate generally about illegal immigrant federal crimes.

“Nonetheless, federal law enforcement is still enormous, with 312,000 people (67,000 of them non-citizens, both legal and illegal) sentenced in the federal courts between 2011 and 2016, excluding immigration violations,” he wrote in his analysis.

“And in the federal system, where we do have good data, non-citizens account for a disproportionate share of those who are sentenced for many different types of non-immigration crimes.”

The areas where non-citizens account for a much larger share of convictions than their 8.4 percent share of the adult population include:

  • 42.4 percent of kidnapping convictions;
  • 31.5 percent of drug convictions;
  • 22.9 percent of money laundering convictions;
  • 13.4 percent of administration of justice offenses (e.g. witness tampering, obstruction, and contempt);
  • 17.8 percent of economic crimes (e.g. larceny, embezzlement, and fraud);
  • 13 percent of other convictions (e.g. bribery, civil rights, environmental, and prison offenses); and
  • 12.8 percent of auto thefts.

The report comes as President Donald J. Trump and Congress work on legislation pertaining to the fate of DACA, or Deferred Action on Childhood Arrivals, an Obama-era policy initiated by executive order that protected some 700,000-800,000 illegal aliens brought into the country as children by their parents.

Obama implemented the policy in 2012, but Trump rescinded it in September, giving Congress six months to come up with a legislative fix.

A federal court on Tuesday issued a temporary injunction against rescinding the program until lawsuits filed by outside groups in support of keeping it in place work their way through the legal system.

As for the fate of DACA, Trump met with Republican and Democratic leaders at the White House on Tuesday to discuss immigration reform that was open to reporters. Democrats are pushing for a “clean” DACA bill that legalizes those who fall under the policy, with an eventual path to citizenship.

But that clashes with Trump’s campaign pledges, where he promised to deport DACA recipients and all illegal aliens, as well as build a border wall between the U.S. and Mexico.

Conservative pundits reminded the president of his pledges throughout the day, with one — Fox News‘ Tucker Carlson — going so far as to question why Trump ran if he’s not going to push for the immigration reform measures he promised on the campaign trail.

“Amnesty for DACA recipients is the only leverage the White House has. Once the president agrees to let them jump to the head of the line, ahead of millions of other people hoping to come here legally, the negotiation is over,” Carlson said.

“At that point, why would Democrats agree to anything? Ending chain migration, the diversity lottery, supporting a merit based system that might actually help America? No chance.”

Tucker Carlson to Trump: ‘Not allowed to blow’ DACA, overhaul of ENTIRE immigration system

(National SentinelImmigration Reformed: On his Tuesday evening program, Fox News host Tucker Carlson took President Donald Trump to task for appearing to agree to an immigration bill that would allow DACA recipients a clear path to citizenship, in exchange for nothing from Democrats who are pushing for that very thing.

“Congress is full of people from both parties who believe that the point of our immigration policy is to provide cheap labor to their donors and to atone for America’s imaginary sins against the world,” Carlson said.

“They couldn’t care less about immigration’s effect on you or your family–these are the same people the president now says he trusts to write the immigration bill, the one he will sign no matter what it says. So what was the point of running for president?”

Continuing, the Fox News host noted, “You will remember the president also ran on his skills as a negotiator, and he clearly has skills as a negotiator. But where were they today?

“The president signaled he’d be happy to legalize hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants now and that at some point in the future tackle all that other stuff like making sure they can’t bring millions of their relatives from the third world along with them. That’s not much of a negotiation,” he said.

“Amnesty for DACA recipients is the only leverage the White House has. Once the president agrees to let them jump to the head of the line, ahead of millions of other people hoping to come here legally, the negotiation is over,” Carlson added. “At that point, why would Democrats agree to anything? Ending chain migration, the diversity lottery, supporting a merit based system that might actually help America? No chance.”

The hosted noted further, “The Democrats’ goal is to import more Democratic voters, and by any means necessary. Once they retake the Congress and the presidency, and if Trump betrays his base on immigration–that’ll definitely happen–it is over.

“Say goodbye to borders, they are done. Keep in mind that the top Democrat in the house recently thanked illegal aliens for sneaking into this country. That’s how Democrats feel and they’re not pretending anymore,” he said.

Carlson then used a baseball analogy to describe what it means to be a supporter of the president.

Being a Trump voter isn’t always easy, it’s like rooting for the underdog in baseball, the old Chicago Cubs. On one level there is pride, the pride that comes from doing something that fashionable people consider insane, and that’s a good feeling.

“But there’s also some disappointment along the way and honestly, there is some embarrassment,” he continued. “But you silently bear it because you know that when they finally win the World Series it will be worth everything you went through. Every sarcastic dig from your brother-in-law at Thanksgiving will seem small by comparison. In the Trump presidency, the World Series is this immigration bill.

“It’s the big payoff, the whole point of the exercise, and they’re not allowed to blow it,” he concluded.

OUTRAGE: Federal judge claims the RIGHT to block Trump from ending DACA

(National SentinelJudicial Activism: A federal judge has issued a temporary order barring President Donald J. Trump from ending a policy enacted by President Obama that shields illegal aliens brought to the U.S. as minors from being deported.

The policy known as Deferred Action on Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, was initiated via executive order by Obama in June 2012. At the time it was heavily criticized by Republicans and a number of state attorneys general as an unconstitutional move by the Executive Branch to unilaterally change immigration law.

The policy was rescinded by Trump in September. At the time, he gave Congress six months to come up with a legislative fix. Lawmakers are currently working on that legislation.

But several Democrat-run states sued the administration over its lifting of DACA, and on Tuesday, U.S. District Judge William Alsup in San Francisco, part of the oft-overturned Ninth Circuit, blocked the order.

In his order, Alsup, who was appointed by President Bill Clinton, ruled the program must remain in place while the litigation is resolved.

Justice Department officials vowed to appeal.

“Today’s order doesn’t change the Department of Justice’s position on the facts,” said the department’s spokesman Devin M. O’Malley. The department “will continue to vigorously defend this position,” he said, as reported by Reuters.

In his ruling Alsup said the government would not be required to process new DACA applications but would be barred for now from moving to deport the more than 700,000 DACA recipients currently covered by the Obama policy. And he ordered the administration to continue processing renewal applications from current DACA recipients.

“DACA gave them a more tolerable set of choices, including joining the mainstream workforce,” Alsup wrote. “Now, absent an injunction, they will slide back to the pre-DACA era and associated hardship.”

He added that the plaintiffs were likely to succeed in arguing that the Trump administration’s decision to end the program was arbitrary.

Opponents of the ruling disagreed, saying that regardless of how DACA recipients got into the country — most were brought in by parents when they were young after sneaking across the U.S. border — they are still here illegally. And they argued that Obama never had the authority to issue the executive order shielding them from deportation in the first place.

Others predicted that Alsup’s ruling will be short-lived.

Roy Beck, president of Numbers USA, which supports tougher immigration laws, dismissed the significance of the court’s action, calling it “an aberration that surely will not be allowed to stand as it is appealed.”

They ADMIT it! Leaked memo shows DEMS want DACA ‘Dreamers’ for ‘future electoral success’

(National SentinelTransformation: A memo circulated by the Center for American Progress (CAP) Action Fund on Monday noted that illegal aliens brought to the U.S. at a young age — the so-called “Dreamers” — are a “critical component of the Democratic Party’s future electoral success.”

The memo, co-written by former Clinton communications director Jennifer Palmieri, was distributed to allies who are calling on congressional Democrats to “refuse to offer any votes for Republican spending bills that do not offer a fix for Dreamers and instead appropriate funds to deport them.”

Last fall President Donald J. Trump moved to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) policy which was implemented by President Obama via executive order, to prevent illegals brought to the U.S. as children by their parents from being deported.

A number of states threatened to sue the Trump administration if it did not end the program, which they said was unconstitutionally implemented. After Trump rescinded Obama’s order in September, several Democrat-run states filed suit against the administration, demanding DACA be replaced.

After rescinding the order, Trump called on Congress to come up with a legislative fix for the Dreamers facing deportation.

Thus far, the House has put forth a bipartisan DACA compromise bill that also claims to address concerns over chain migration. But it’s unclear it could pass.

The CAP Action memo says protecting DACA is not only a “moral imperative” for Democrats, it also key to getting votes.

“The fight to protect Dreamers is not only a moral imperative, it is also a critical component of the Democratic Party’s future electoral success,” reads Palmieri’s memo, according to The Daily Caller.

“If Democrats don’t try to do everything in their power to defend Dreamers, that will jeopardize Democrats’ electoral chances in 2018 and beyond,” the memo continues. “In short, the next few weeks will tell us a lot about the Democratic Party and its long-term electoral prospects.”

Several conservative pundits and lawmakers have warned that if Republicans cave on the DACA issue and vote for amnesty, it will put their congressional majority in danger and could also lead to Trump’s defeat in 2020.

They have also warned that Democrats want to save DACA for the very reason the memo states: Future voters.
