Whiny Adam Schiff MELTS DOWN after Trump refuses to release Dems BOGUS FISA counter-memo

(National SentinelHissy Fit: House Intelligence Committee Ranking Member Adam Schiff, D-Calif., blasted President Donald J. Trump on Friday after the commander-in-chief refused to authorize the release of a memo Democrats on the committee produced in response to last week’s explosive FISA memo.

“After ignoring urging of FBI & DOJ not to release misleading Nunes memo because it omits material facts, @POTUS now expresses concerns over sharing precisely those facts with public and seeks to send it back to the same Majority that produced the flawed Nunes memo to begin with,” Schiff said in a tweet accompanied by a statement.

The statement runs counter to virtually every revelation in the GOP-drafted FISA memo, which documented serial abuses of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court by members of the FBI in obtaining a warrant to spy on minor Trump campaign figure Carter Page.

The memo noted that the FBI used a dossier written by former British spy Christopher Steele that was based on salacious and erroneous information provided him by Russian government sources.

The FBI failed to properly vet the dossier when applying for the surveillance warrant for Page. The FISA memo also notes that the dossier was the principal evidence used to obtain the warrant.

In his statement, Schiff called the Republican-drafted FISA memo “flawed” and a “misleading attack on law enforcement by the GOP.”

“We hope this matter can be quickly resolved so the committee can return to its charge — fully investigating the Russian interference in our election and the role of the Trump campaign, and what steps need to be taken to protect against foreign interference in the next election, now only months away,” said Schiff’s statement.

In a letter to White House counsel Don McGhan, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and FBI Director Christopher Wray said both of them had serious security concerns about the Democratic response memo.

The objections by Rosenstein and Wray were what led the president to decide to return the memo to the House Intelligence Committee for changes.

Some of Schiff’s critics have said he intentionally included classified information in the Democrats’ memo just so Trump would reject it and give him and friendly media a talking point that the president and Republicans are being partisan.

Nunes hits BACK at ‘spurious’ FBI, DOJ objections to FISA memo release; NO more ‘stonewalling’ the American people

(National SentinelTransparency: House Intelligence Committee chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif. pushed back against FBI and Justice Department officials on Wednesday after they attempted to convince him and President Donald J. Trump not to release a four-page “FISA memo” that purportedly shows pre-election bias against the Republican nominee.

“Having stonewalled Congress’ demands for information for nearly a year, it’s no surprise to see the FBI and DOJ issue spurious objections to allowing the American people to see information related to surveillance abuses at these agencies,” Nunes said in a statement posted to the committee’s website.

“The FBI is intimately familiar with ‘material omissions’ with respect to their presentations to both Congress and the courts, and they are welcome to make public, to the greatest extent possible, all the information they have on these abuses,” he continued.

“Regardless, it’s clear that top officials used unverified information in a court document to fuel a counter-intelligence investigation during an American political campaign. Once the truth gets out, we can begin taking steps to ensure our intelligence agencies and courts are never misused like this again.”

Democrats and some officials within both agencies have been working behind the scenes and publicly to both delay the memo’s release and discredit it as a partisan attack.

Also Wednesday, the committee’s ranking minority member, Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff of California, objected to the memo’s release after minor editorial changes had been made to it in order to satisfy FBI concerns.

Schiff claimed the memo had been “secretly altered” and therefore must be reviewed again by the entire committee before it is released.

“BREAKING: Discovered late tonight that Chairman Nunes made material changes to the memo he sent to White House – changes not approved by the Committee. White House therefore reviewing a document the Committee has not approved for release,” he tweeted, including a copy of a letter he sent to Nunes.

But in response to Schiff, the House GOP noted that changes were minor and editorial in nature while accusing the California Democrat of trying to unnecessarily delay the memo’s release.

“In its increasingly strange attempt to thwart publication of the memo, the Committee Minority is now complaining about minor edits to the memo, including grammatical fixes and two edits requested by the FBI and by the Minority themselves,” said the GOP statement.

“The vote to release the memo was absolutely procedurally sound, and in accordance with the House and Committee rules. To suggest otherwise is a bizarre distraction from the abuses detailed in the memo, which the public will hopefully soon be able to read for themselves,” it added.

Previous reports have claimed that the memo lays out abuses of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court by Obama-era FBI and DOJ officials to improperly obtain a surveillance warrant to spy on President Trump’s campaign.

The memo also allegedly names certain department and bureau figures who may have been involved in the scheme.

Goofball Adam Schiff doesn’t want ‘explosive’ FISA memo released because he thinks we’re too DUMB to understand it

(National SentinelIgnorance: Reports last week said that not a single Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee voted in favor of releasing an “explosive” FISA memo that Republicans have hinted contains evidence of Obama-era abuse of the secretive FISA court in order to spy on the Trump campaign.

On Saturday during an appearance on CNN, the panel’s ranking member, California Democrat Adam Schiff, attempted to explain his party’s opposition: Americans won’t understand what’s in the memo.

“It is essentially a set of talking points that the Republican Intel staff drafted. Based on the highly classified materials which most of the Republican members were forced to acknowledge,” he said.

“They’ve not even read. So they don’t know how distorted these talking points are. But it’s part of the narrative they want to push out. Interestingly enough, they’ve made common cause once again with Russian bots because Russian bots are pushing their narrative out there,” Schiff added.

“It’s in a redux of the campaign. We have Assange and Wikileaks and Russian trolls and bots saying, you know, hash tag whatever the GOP narrative is. That ought to tell you a lot about what’s driving this,” he said.

Asked why he doesn’t just support release of the memo to the public so that the American people can make up their own minds, Schiff said: “Well, because the American people unfortunately don’t have the underlying materials and therefore they can’t see how distorted and misleading this document is.

“The Republicans are not saying make the underlying materials available to the public. They just want to make this spin available to the public,” he said.

“I think that spin, which is a attack on the FBI, is just designed to attack the FBI and Bob Mueller to circle the wagons for the White House. And that’s a terrible disservice to the people, hard working people at the bureau, but more than that, it’s a disservice to the country,” Schiff claimed.

In a statement to CNN Friday, Schiff slammed the memo, branding it a “profoundly misleading set of talking points drafted by Republican staff attacking the FBI and its handling of the investigation.”

Republicans who have read the memo say differently. They claim it contains explosive evidence indicating that the Obama administration abused the FISA court warrant process, likely in an effort to spy on the Trump campaign — a completely politicization of the U.S. intelligence community and the Department of Justice.

Watch, via Tea Partier:

Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., who has read the memo, said he believes it will not simply lead to people being fired from FBI and DoJ, but that some could be indicted and even jailed at some point.

Is House Intel ranking member Adam Schiff a LEAKER? Trump, Sanders CALL HIM OUT

(National SentinelClassified: President Donald J. Trump and White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders have both intimated that House Intelligence Committee Ranking Member Adam Schiff, D-Calif., is responsible for a series of leaks of highly classified information discussed before the panel.

The president put Schiff in the limelight as a potential leaker during an interview with The Wall Street Journal that was published Thursday.

“All I see of these Democrats, like Adam Schiff — it’s all he does, he’ll have a meeting, and then he’ll leave, and he’ll call up the meeting, and then I’ll have a meeting and then he’ll leave. He left meetings where people are being interviewed, and then all of a sudden they say a story about what’s going on inside the meetings,” Trump said.

He added: “It’s probably illegal, what he’s doing.”

Thursday afternoon Sanders also took aim at Schiff.

“The only people that we’ve seen trying to influence the investigation are former Director Comey and Democrats in Congress — and that would include Senator Feinstein, Representative Schiff — who have both selectively leaked to the media witness interviews,” said Sanders.

“We see that to be a big problem and something that should certainly be considered and looked at,” she added.

Schiff, who is the Intelligence Committee’s top Democrat, has been accused in the past of potentially being a leaker.

Trump assistant Dan Scavino suggested as much in December.

Scavino, Trump’s assistant and director of White House social media, mentioned “Leaker Adam Schiff” in a tweet that went viral. Scavino’s tweet came in a response to a tweet sent by former White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer.

“Just a reminder that CNN, CBS and MSNBC have yet to explain how numerous ‘independent’ sources all misread the date on an email in calls to each of those three outlets. No explanation. None,” Fleischer tweeted.

“Perhaps they are waiting to hear back from Leaker Schiff?” Scavino responded.

Schiff has not been officially identified as leaking sensitive information presented to the committee. However, leaks of information that has been discussed by or presented to the committee have been constant throughout its investigation into Russian election interference and alleged collusion with the Trump campaign.

Schiff denied to CNN‘s Jake Tapper that he was leaking information.

“All the press that have dealt with me in this investigation know, often to their frustration, that I don’t discuss the contents of our investigative interviews. The only exception I make is when people refuse to answer questions because I don’t allow them to leave the room and say we cooperated fully,” said Schiff.

Trey Gowdy RIPS suspected LEAKER Adam Schiff over outrageous claim of Trump-Russia collusion (Video)

(National SentinelHot Under The Collar: On Sunday, Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., tore into House Intelligence Committee ranking member Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., during an appearance on Fox News, heavily criticizing the process of the committee’s ongoing probe into suspected “collusion” between the Trump campaign and Russia.

In an interview with Maria Bartiromo, Gowdy said that Schiff, who is also under suspicion for leaking details of the committee’s proceedings, has made several unsubstantiated claims regarding the collusion narrative in order to help his bid for the U.S. Senate.

“How long is this going to go on? Because we still haven’t had any evidence of any collusion,” Bartiromo said.

“When is it appropriate for [special counsel] Bob Mueller to come out and say, yes, definitively there’s no collusion here, but what I have uncovered is collusion at the top of the FBI between FBI leadership and Hillary Clinton?” she pressed.

At that, Gowdy ripped Schiff.

“Well Maria some of my Democratic colleagues, namely Adam Schiff, said he had evidence, more than circumstantial evidence of collusion, before the investigation even began so keep that in mind,” Gowdy said.

“The ranking Democrat on the House Intel Committee (Schiff) had evidence of collusion before we interviewed our very first witness!” Gowdy continued.

“Almost 60 Democrats voted to move forward with impeachment. Already!” Gowdy said incredulously.

“Before Bob Mueller’s released a single finding, before the House Intelligence or Senate Intelligence Committees have released a single, solitary finding, almost 60 House Democrats think the president ought to be removed from office and Adam Schiff says he has evidence of collusion,” Gowdy said as Maria Bartiromo shook her her head.

Gowdy went on, pointing out that there are still several witnesses who need to be interviewed to which Bartiromo replied, “That is infuriating”.

“Well, it’s only infuriating if you have high expectations,” Gowdy replied.

The South Carolina Republican then hit Schiff for grandstanding ahead of an expected bid for Sen. Dianne Feinstein amid rumors she may not run for reelection.

Schiff has continued to claim that there is evidence of collusion between President Donald J. Trump’s 2016 campaign and the Russian government, but so far no evidence has been produced to support the allegation despite more than a year’s worth of investigating by the FBI, Justice Department, and several congressional committees.

When he has been pressured to cite the evidence, Schiff falls back on allegations that have already been vetted publicly, critics note.

“You can’t have confidence” in the findings of the ongoing House Intelligence Committee “investigation when the ranking Democrat prejudges it before we’ve interviewed your very first witness,” an exasperated Gowdy said, in reference to Schiff.

Here is the exchange between Bartiromo and Gowdy:

Rep. Nunes planning comprehensive ‘FBI CORRUPTION’ report in building CRIMINAL case against SR. officials

(National SentinelSwamp Drain: The head of the House Intelligence Committee is reportedly planning to produce an extensive, detailed report that documents extensive “FBI corruption” amid “secret talks” to build criminal cases against senior officials.

Under consideration is a report that includes a “warts and all” summary of serial abuses of power and corruption at the country’s premier federal law enforcement and counterterrorism agency.

As noted by Newsmax, the report would highlight the conduct of some FBI officials into last year’s investigation of suspected Russian meddling in the U.S. presidential election, people familiar with the plans have said.

This would come as Republican supporters of President Donald J. Trump in Congress have stepped up efforts to discredit special counsel Robert Mueller’s “collusion” probe amid allegations of anti-Trump bias on his prosecutorial and investigative team.

The goal is to cast doubts on any findings he may produce regarding allegations that Team Trump and Russia conspired to steal the election from Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

The Republicans’ “intent here is not to do oversight,” said House Intelligence Committee Ranking Member Adam Schiff, D-Calif., said.

“The intent here is nothing short of discrediting Mueller, then discrediting the Justice Department, then discrediting the FBI, then discrediting the judiciary, should the judiciary convict some of the people that Mueller has charged or may charge in the future,” adding that the GOP criticisms are “an effort to tear at the very idea that there is an objective truth.”

But as noted earlier, Republicans and the Intelligence Committee’s chairman, Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., have been meeting in secret to discuss theories and scenarios regarding the actions and motivations of key FBI and Department of Justice officials who appear to have conspired against then-GOP candidate Trump.

As reported by Politico, a group of Republican House members have gathered in secret for weeks to investigate potential corruption at the department after being frustrated by their lack of progress in getting DoJ officials to turn over documents and other materials to explain how the FBI used the infamous “Trump dossier.”

Those familiar with the chairman’s plans say the goal of the effort is to point out what several committee Republicans believe is systemic corruption and an ongoing conspiracy by upper FBI and DoJ ranks.

The group plans to release a report early next year laying out their concerns about DoJ and FBI officials tied to the “Trump-Russia collusion” and Clinton email investigations. They may also seek a vote in Congress to declassify portions of their evidence.

Observers say House Republicans appear to be building a criminal case against key FBI and DoJ officials while imploring Attorney General Jeff Sessions to appoint a second special counsel to examine their evidence.

In November reports noted that Sessions was considering a second special counsel to investigate the manner in which the FBI and DoJ conducted their criminal investigation into Hillary Clinton’s improper handling of classified information.

Also, Sessions has called on a senior Justice Department attorney to look into appointing a special counsel to investigate recently demoted official Bruce Ohr’s contacts with Fusion GPS.

EXPOSED? Trump assistant Dan Scavino calls out ‘Leaker Adam Schiff’

(National SentinelLeaks and Leaks: President Donald J. Trump’s assistant Dan Scavino appeared to call out Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, as being one of the people responsible for leaking sensitive information to the media.

During Donald J. Trump Jr.’s marathon eight-hour closed-door testimony before the committee earlier this month, Schiff was seen by observers leaving the hearing room several times. Shortly thereafter, CNN began publishing snippets of information from the hearing itself.

Scavino, Trump’s assistant and director of White House social media, mentioned “Leaker Adam Schiff” in a Tuesday evening tweet that went viral.

The former Bush administration official was referencing a botched story involving an email sent by a representative of Wikileaks to Don. Jr. last fall with an encryption key to unlock a trove of emails from the Democratic National Committee.

The networks’ “sources” got the dates wrong, as the the encryption key had already been available to the public for days by the time Don Jr. was sent the email.

Following Fleischer’s tweet, Scavino pointed to Schiff.

“Perhaps they are waiting to hear back from Leaker Schiff?” he tweeted.

Fox News‘ Ed Henry was the first to report that Schiff was seen leaving the hearing room on several occasions, and that shortly afterward stories began appearing at CNN while Don Jr. was still providing testimony.

Top DEM on House Intel committee says DEMS who tried to get Trump dirt from Ukraine ‘inappropriate’

(National SentinelElection 2016: Just when we thought we had all the top Democrats figured out, one of them throws us a curve ball. That would be Rep. Adam Schiff of California, the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee.

In an interview with ABC‘s “This Week,” Schiff took a shot at Hillary Clinton’s campaign when he said it wasn’t “appropriate” for operatives to have sought ‘dirt’ on then-GOP nominee Donald J. Trump using Ukrainian government sources.

“It wouldn’t be appropriate for the Democrats to get help from the Ukrainian government,” Schiff, whose committee is investigating Russian election meddling, said. “It would be problematic to get any kind of support from a foreign government.”

As reported by Fox News:

The White House and Trump allies in recent days have pointed to a reported meeting last year between a Democratic National Committee consultant and officials at the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington. They spoke amid recent revelations about Trump campaign officials accepting a meeting in June 2016 with a Russian lawyer, on the possibility of potentially damaging information on Clinton.

“If you are looking for an example of a campaign coordinating with a foreign country or a foreign source, look no further than the DNC, which actually coordinated opposition research with the Ukrainian Embassy,” White House Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Monday. “This is not an accusation. That is an on-the-record action that they took.”

The DNC would have, of course, been helping Clinton.

Sanders was referring to a meeting that Politico first reported in January. The report cited a meeting between Ukrainian government officials who allegedly tried to help Clinton undermine Trump by publicly questioning his fitness for office and shared research and damaging information on Trump and his advisers with Clinton allies.

The Politico investigation exposed that a Ukrainian-American DNC operative — Alexandra Chalupa, who worked in the Clinton White House — met with officials in the Ukrainian Embassy to expose ties between Trump’s then-top campaign official Paul Manafort and Russia.

Manafort later resigned.

As for Schiff, while he was critical of the DNC/Ukrainian effort, he said it didn’t compare to the level of Russian interference.

Survival gear

That may well be true — though there hasn’t been any evidence leaked or otherwise publicly presented that indicates as much, other than what some in the intelligence community appear to have concluded. But even at that, there is also no evidence of the “Russia colluded with Trump to steal the election from Clinton” narrative, either — and after all that’s been leaked, if there had been evidence, we’d have seen it by now.

It would be nice if Schiff and Democrats would finally admit that as well.

Top Dem on House Intel panel: ‘Queasy’ feeling over Loretta Lynch’s meddling in Clinton FBI case

(National SentinelCongress: The top Democrat on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence says he felt “queasy” after learning that Obama Attorney General Loretta Lynch politicized – likely on her boss’ instructions – the FBI’s criminal investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email scandal.

Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., the ranking member on the intelligence committee, becomes the latest prominent Democrat to question Lynch’s instructions to fired FBI Director James Comey to downplay the severity of the probe against Clinton, who was at the time locked in an election battle with then-GOP presidential nominee Donald J. Trump.

As Fox News reported:

Another prominent Democrat has come forward to voice concerns about allegations ex-Attorney General Loretta Lynch may have sought to keep a lid on last year’s Hillary Clintons email probe, with California Rep. Adam Schiff saying he’s “queasy” at the thought.

“I’d like to hear what Loretta Lynch’s explanation for that is, either by having her come to the Hill or by having her speak publicly,” he said.

The call significantly ups the pressure on Lynch, as the push to scrutinize her conduct in last year’s Clinton email investigation becomes more bipartisan.

The renewed attention stems from fired FBI Director James Comey’s testimony earlier this month that Lynch had instructed him to describe the probe as a “matter” – not an “investigation.” Comey said this “confused” him and cited that directive, along with Lynch’s unusual tarmac meeting with former President Bill Clinton while the investigation was ongoing, in his decision to announce the FBI’s findings on his own.

Yet even as Democrats focus heavily on the Russia allegations, a handful of high-powered lawmakers like Schiff now want to hear from Lynch. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, told CNN earlier this month that Comey’s charges gave her a “queasy feeling.”

Schiff agreed with Feinstein’s characterization.

“It does give me a queasy feeling as well,” he told CNN’s “State of the Union.” “There may be a perfectly accurate explanation by Loretta Lynch about why she thought ‘matter’ was the appropriate term rather than ‘investigation.’ So I wouldn’t assume James Comey’s characterization is the last word on it even although though I’m sure it’s accurate.”

When asked if he would have the former attorney general come to the House intelligence panel, he said he’s not sure that’s part of the Russia probe.

“But I would like to hear what her explanation for that was. But I certainly wouldn’t want that to distract us from what we need to do to get to the bottom of the Russia allegations,” he said.

The Senate Judiciary Committee, however, does want to hear from Lynch on the matter. As we have reported, the committee, led by Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, has opened an investigation into the Comey-Lynch-Clinton nexus. Also, the Trump State Department has opened an inquiry into Clinton’s improper use of a private, unsecured email server during her stint as Obama’s secretary of state.

Comey has said the FBI found plenty of evidence that she mishandled highly classified intelligence via that server – enough to land Americans not named Clinton behind bars for double-digit years.

11 months later, STILL no proof of Trump-Russia collusion; Dem lawmaker confirms

(National SentinelPhony allegations: Remember when Democrats used to complain about how much money Congress was “wasting” on “bogus” investigations into nefarious behavior by President Obama and his inner circle?

Not anymore, now that congressional investigations are focused on President Donald J. Trump and his inner circle – even if after nearly a year there has been no evidence found by anyone that there’s been a crime committed.

In an interview with ABC News on Sunday, Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., ranking member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, admitted that there’s no proof Trump “colluded” with Russia, but nevertheless, the investigation must go on

As reported by The Daily Caller:

The 11-month-old investigation into whether President Trump or members of his campaign colluded with Russians has still not turned up any evidence that’s strong enough to put before a jury.

That’s according to California Rep. Adam Schiff, the ranking member on the House Intelligence Committee, which is overseeing one of the parallel investigations into whether members of the Trump campaign coordinated with the Kremlin to influence the outcome of the election.

“I’m not prepared to say that there’s proof you could take to a jury,” Schiff told ABC News’ Martha Raddatz on Sunday when asked if he’s seen proof of collusion.

As a leader of the House committee, Schiff has been able to review classified information held by various agencies of the intelligence community. He has also sat in on briefings with FBI officials to review information in the case.

Oh, but forget about actually ending the investigation; after all, the Democrats have to have something to run on in 2018, since their political ideology is bankrupt and they’ve got no ideas on how to improve the country.

“I can say that there’s enough that we ought to be investigation,” Schiff said Sunday.

“Indeed, it would be negligent for us not to investigate. If a foreign government…has something that they can hang over the head of our president or our administration that can influence U.S. policy, it is very much in our national security interest to know it.”

Whatever, Mr. Schiff. It’s time for Democrats to put up or shut up about all of this ‘Russia’ BS. Ditto for the #neverTrump RINOs who should have never launched these bogus investigations in the first place.

Trump blasts partisan Dems over ‘made up,’ ‘fake’ Russia dossier

(NationalSentinelPolitics: When it comes to feeding their always-angry, always-irrational base some red meat, congressional Democrats are never hesitant.

That’s the only way to explain why some Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee would read parts of the wholly discredited, unsubstantiated Trump “dossier” put together by a former British spy into the congressional record, as if it were legitimate ‘evidence.’

In a recent interview with the Washington Times, President Donald J. Trump was obviously fed up:

The unverified 35-page series of memos by Christopher Steele accused the Trump campaign of an elaborate criminal conspiracy with Russia to hack Democratic Party computers. Rep. Adam B. Schiff of California, top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, read parts of the dossier into the hearing record on March 20, as did three other Democrats, as he argued for a commission.

In an exclusive interview with The Washington Times, Mr. Trump was asked about this Democratic tactic.

“I think it’s a disgrace,” the president said. “The dossier has been totally discredited, No. 1. No. 2, Adam Schiff is totally partisan, as partisan as you can get. And No. 3, the Russia story is a fake story. It was made up so that they can justify the fact that Hillary Clinton lost an election that a Democrat should not lose because it’s almost impossible for a Democrat to lose the Electoral College. And not only did she lose, but she lost by a lot because I got 306 and [she got] 232.”

Referring to Mr. Steele, the president said, “He made it up.”

There has been no public official confirmation of any of the dossier’s charges against Mr. Trump and his aides.

Some liberal news sites identify Mr. Steele simply as a former British MI6 intelligence officer. In his dossier role, he was not an objective intelligence analyst, but instead was on the payroll of a Hillary Clinton backer, through Fusion GPS, to produce information that would injure the Trump campaign.

Trump was also asked his opinion of the FBI offering to pay Steele $50,000 if he continued his “investigation” into the Republican presidential nominee, to which he replied: I think if that’s true with the FBI, that would be very disgraceful. You understand that.”

It’s important to remind our readers that #nevertrump, GOP-hating media outlets had this “dossier” for months – months – before the November election, but they didn’t publish any of its details because no one could substantiate any of it. That includes U.S. intelligence agencies, by the way.

The idiots at Buzzfeed, led by editor Ben Smith, however, finally did publish the document in full, and now they’re getting sued out of existence for doing so. Also, the dossier author, Steele, has admitted key elements contained within are unsubstantiated

As for the Democrats, they have made the accusation that the dossier is true and therefore have the burden of proof: Where is the evidence that the information in the document is valid?

If lawmakers could be held to the same legal standards as private citizens and news organizations, they would never make such statements because they, too, would face charges of libel and slander.

Former House Intel chairman calls on top Dem Schiff to recuse himself from Russia investigation for same reason Nunes asked to step aside

(NationalSentinel) Politics: Once again, Democrats prove they lack the hypocrisy gene.

Former House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Rogers, R-Mich., called on ranking member Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., to recuse himself from the panel’s ongoing investigation into Russian election interference for doing the same thing he and other Democrats accused current panel chairman Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., of doing.

“For his part, Schiff suggested to the media that he had seen information on Russia-Trump campaign ties that was ‘the kind of evidence’ that would be presented to a grand jury, adding that he had seen additional evidence, but not elaborating further,” Rogers wrote in an op-ed Saturday on CNN.com.

In March, Schiff said on CNN:

I do think that it’s appropriate to say that it’s the kind of evidence that you would submit to a grand jury at the beginning of an investigation. It’s not the kind of evidence that you take to a trial jury when you’re trying to prove something beyond a reasonable doubt. But we’re at the beginning of an investigation, and given the gravity of the subject matter, I think that the evidence certainly warrants us doing a thorough investigation.

Left-wing groups and Marxist Democrats called on Intel Chairman Nunes to ‘recuse’ himself for essentially the same thing; Nunes did so after those groups filed a complain with the House Ethics Committee.

“Equally, Representative Adam Schiff should consider recusing himself from the probe,” Rogers wrote.

“Both Nunes and Schiff are equally to blame for the Committee’s loss of focus. How can a committee, which handles sensitive classified information, conduct its business when the purportedly secret information is discussed — even by insinuation — publicly in front of the media?” he wrote.

As for Schiff, he told ABC News‘ “This Week” he didn’t consider the suggestion by Rogers “a serious one.”

A lot of us have characterized how we’ve seen the intelligence. Some have said it looks more like smoke than fire. Some of us said it’s a small fire. Some have said they’ve seen no evidence. Mr. Rogers and others don’t quarrel with those who say they’ve seen no evidence. I don’t think that’s an accurate assessment. And I certainly don’t think I can let it stand. But I don’t think Mr. Rogers’ suggestion is a serious one.

Nunes has criticized the ethics complain as entirely politically motivated, and there is little doubt they are.

But Democrats play by different rules, which is to say, there are no rules for Democrats. Anything they do is fine, as the ends justify the means. Republicans, of course, are held to a far different standard – by their Democratic colleagues and the discredited establishment media.

Schiff should step down, but of course he won’t because doing so would admit he made a mistake, and Democrats never admit that they’re wrong.

The best thing for the country moving forward is for this Trump-Russia collusion hoax to die a quick death so the president and Congress can finally move forward addressing the country’s real problems – like Obamacare and tax reform.
