Poll: Americans ‘overwhelmingly believe’ that Obama SPIED on Team Trump

(National SentinelSurvey Says: A newly-released IBD/TIPP poll found that “Americans overwhelmingly believe the Obama administration ‘improperly surveilled’ Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.”

The survey, conducted by Investors Business Daily in conjunction with the TIPP polling firm, also found that a majority of respondents would like to see the appointment of a special counsel to look into charges that some Obama FBI and Justice Department officials improperly obtained surveillance warrants to spy on Trump campaign figures.

“One fact emerges from the poll of 900 people conducted from Jan. 25 to Feb. 2: The public doesn’t necessarily buy into the Democratic narrative that the Trump campaign ‘colluded’ with Russia to tamper with the 2016 presidential election,” Investors Business Daily noted.

“The poll also suggests that many Americans think the roots of the allegations made against Trump extend beyond the two major party campaigns in the last presidential election and deep into the Obama era’s intelligence and law enforcement bureaucracies, and may involve active political bias on the part of supposedly nonpartisan employees of both the Justice Department and FBI,” IBD added.

About 55 percent said it was “likely” that the Obama administration “improperly surveilled the Trump campaign during the 2016 election.”

Regarding whether a special counsel was needed to “investigate whether the FBI and the Department of Justice improperly surveilled the Trump campaign during the 2016 presidential election,” 54 percent responded “yes,” and 44 percent “no.”

“The poll’s contents are troubling for those in the Democratic Party and the left-leaning media who had hoped to make a case with the American people that President Trump worked with Russian officials to win the 2016 election. The American people don’t seem to believe it,” IBD reported.

POP: Trump’s approval rating better than OBAMA’s at same period in presidency

(National SentinelSurvey Says: Democrats and Left-leaning pundits are quick to note during any discussion about President Donald J. Trump’s agenda that he’s a “deeply unpopular” chief executive who has to work with the opposition party if he wants to govern.

But a new survey has, again, defied that narrative: The Rasmussen Daily Tracking survey, which was one of the few accurate polls during the 2016 campaign (it consistently had Trump ahead of his rival, Hillary Clinton), has Trump polling at 48 percent — four points higher than his predecessor at the same time in his term.

“The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows that 48% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Fifty-one percent (51%) disapprove,” the polling firm said.

Granted, presidential approval ratings could always improve, but Trump’s ratings are high despite the fact that 90 percent of the media coverage during a recent three-month period of time was negative, and he’s endured personal attacks on a scale that is unprecedented.

Meanwhile, on February 7, 2010, President Obama had an approval rating of 44 percent according to the same polling firm, while 56 strongly disapproved.

And Obama’s media coverage was far less hostile.

Survey: ALL races believe U.S. politicians NOT putting America first

(National SentinelWashington First: A new survey from the Public Religion Research Institute found that most Americans of all ethnicities do not believe elected leaders in Washington are putting them or the country ahead of other nations.

The 2017 American Values Survey found that 60 percent of Americans agree with the statement, “In the past, America’s leaders have been too focused on helping other nations at the expense of our own country,” Breitbart News reported.

In addition, the study found that “roughly equal numbers of white (62 percent), black (60 percent), and Hispanic Americans (57 percent) agree that American leaders have been too focused on helping other nations in the past.”

The survey also found that “no group shows stronger agreement that American leaders” haven’t been putting U.S. interests first than Republicans (78 percent agree), an indication that President Donald J. Trump’s message of economic nationalism resonates with GOP voters most.

But the president also made inroads into traditional Democratic strongholds throughout the Midwest last year, winning over white working-class Reagan Democrats in places like Michigan, Wisconsin, and Ohio.

The survey also found that there is a “considerable educational divide” among whites on whether America’s leaders are putting America first. Of those without a college degree, 70 percent do not think politicians are putting America first. Those with a degree were split: 48 percent agree, while 51 percent do not believe that American leaders have been “too focused on helping other nations at the expense of our own country.”

Franken tanking: New poll shows support for Minnesota senator bottoms out following sexual assault allegations

(National SentinelFallout: A new poll of Minnesota voters shows that support for Democratic Sen. Al Franken has fallen dramatically following allegations of improper sexual conduct in 2006 and beyond.

According to a survey conducted by local affiliate KSTP and SurveyUSA, Franken’s approval rating has fallen 17 points since the allegations became public, from 53 percent to 36 percent.

Less than one-quarter of those surveyed — 22 percent — said they thought Franken should remain in office.

That compares with about one-third of Minnesotans who said that Franken should resign. And another 26 percent said they want to wait to see the results of a Senate Ethics Committee investigation before they decide.

Franken has been accused by a female news anchor of kissing and groping her without her consent in an incident while both appeared on a USO tour in 2006.

A second accuser said he groped her while they took a photo at a state fair in 2010.

If he chooses to remain in office, however, just 32 percent of Minnesotans believe he’ll still be an “effective” senators, while 37 percent think he’ll be ineffective and 32 percent said they were not sure.

Poll: Majority believe America is at its lowest point ever

(National SentinelSurvey Says: A clear majority of Americans in all age groups believe that their country is at its historical low point, according to a recently-released poll by the American Psychological Association.

The organization’s “Stress in America” poll, which asks what is stressing out Americans and how they are dealiing with it, found that 59 percent of adults believe the present day  to be “the lowest point in our nation’s history that they can remember.”

The poll, first reported by Axios after its release Monday, further noted that this includes adults who have lived through World War II, the Vietnam War, the Cuban Missile Crisis and the 9/11 attacks.

Much of the stress is attributable to the 2016 presidential election result, proving to be a “somewhat or very significant” reason for mounting stress among 52 percent of Americans.

At the same time, money and work are also high stressors for Americans (62 percent and 61 percent, respectively), the survey noted.

“While an overall majority of adults from both parties are stressed about America’s future, the APA poll found that the number is higher for Democrats — with 73 percent of Democrats stressed, compared to 59 percent of Republicans and 59 percent of independents,” Breitbart News reported.

Regarding public policy issues, those surveyed put health care (43 percent) and the economy (35 percent) as top stressors.

Via the poll:

Additional issues causing stress for about three in 10 Americans include trust in government (32 percent), crime and hate crimes (31 percent), and terrorist attacks in the United States (30 percent). Around one-quarter of adults (28 percent) cited high taxes as a source of stress, while one in five Americans cited unemployment and low wages (22 percent) and climate change and environmental issues (21 percent) as causes of stress when thinking about the nation.

The APA noted that women saw an increase in stress from 2016 to 2017, while men on average saw their stress fall.

Most blamed the media for their added stress (56 percent), while nearly three-quarters of respondents accused the media of blowing events “out of proportion.”

Don’t look now but Trump’s approval rating is UP again

(National SentinelExecutive Branch: Despite the never-ending hate from the “mainstream” media, entertainment industry, and Democrats in general, President Donald J. Trump’s approval rating climbed again recently, thanks to a series of high-profile good deeds.

The latest presidential tracking poll by Rasmussen Reports found that Trump’s overall approval rating has climbed to 45 percent, though 54 percent said they disapproved.

Trump has gotten positive numbers from his visits to hurricane-savaged areas in Texas, Florida, and Puerto Rico, as well as his handling of the disasters.

In addition, Trump’s visit to Las Vegas to meet with victims of last weekend’s mass shooting is also being well-received by most Americans.

The president’s approval rating has been inching upward over the past month, driven by a number of factors including his administration’s response to the storms and his taking on the NFL over its player protests.

Update: This morning after this story was posted, Rasmussen updated its polling figures; Trump’s approval rating is actually up to 46 percent.

This is how you know we’re losing our country

By J. D. Heyes, editor-in-chief

(National SentinelConstitution: Founding father Benjamin Franklin is said to have been asked by a woman upon leaving the Constitution Convention in Philadelphia in 1787 what kind of government he and the others created — a republic or a monarchy.

“A republic, if you can keep it,” Dr. Franklin is said to have replied.

A new poll from the University of Pennsylvania suggests that Franklin was, sadly, prophetic.

According to the survey, four in 10 Americans can’t name a single right contained in the Constitution’s First Amendment — which, in the interest of education, reads:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

It is our most basic of rights — the right to be who we want to be, say what we want to say, and hold our government accountable through peaceful demonstration and protest.

And nearly half of Americans don’t know that or, at a minimum, can’t list the amendment that gives them such political power.

More: The survey also found that 33 percent of those polled were unable to name one of the three branches of the U.S. government, such as legislative, executive and judicial. And only 26 percent of the respondents could name all three branches.

That’s pathetic.

“Protecting the rights guaranteed by the Constitution presupposes that we know what they are. The fact that many don’t is worrisome,” said Kathleen Hall Jamieson, director of the Annenberg Public Policy Center. “These results emphasize the need for high-quality civics education in the schools and for press reporting that underscores the existence of constitutional protections.”

She’s right. Lack of constitutional education is the fault of the U.S. primary education system, which is run by a bunch of Left-wing Marxist types whose leaders, long ago, figured out the best way to subdue Americans and hold political sway over them is to keep them dumbed down — about their history, their roots, their liberties, and their rugged individualism. You tend to rely more on “the state” when you’re taught that “the state” holds all power over you, instead of it being the other way around.

What these Leftist “progressives” fail to understand is once “the state” holds all power, that will include having all power over them, as well. No more freedom, period — for anybody. So yeah, we’ll all have to accept the climate change lie, but no one gets to live where they want, work where they want, and do what they want. All that will be “planned.”

“A republic, if you can keep it,” said Dr. Franklin.

Two hundred thirty years is a short period of time in the history of nations, but it appears that’s all the time it took for Americans to piss away the incredible gift of liberty and self-government our founders passed along to us.

Left-wing progressivism, which used to dwell within the American communist movement, today has found a home in the Democratic Party.

The Democratic Party is the party of authoritarianism, anti-Americanism, and tyranny — all of the things Dr. Franklin warned about when he spoke those prophetic, sage words.

The Democratic Party controls the education establishment.

The education establishment is projecting Left-wing Marxism onto our children. Marxism is not conducive to freedom.

The progressive plan is working as designed, evidenced by the University of Pennsylvania poll.

We have a choice as a nation: Take back our local school boards, get rid of the Marxist educators, and demand our kids are thoroughly taught the Constitution — or lose this republic.

Shock poll: More than HALF of Virginia residents would ban free speech on campus to protect snowflakes’ feelings

(National SentinelFirst Amendment: The political Left in America has long sought to undermine our constitutional system and replace it with a more authoritarian model of government more akin to European-style socialism.

A new shock poll out of Virginia shows just how far the Left has advanced its anti-constitutional agenda.

As reported by The Daily Caller, just over half of Virginians would limit free speech on college campuses so that little snowflake college students would not have to be exposed to any differences of opinion or situations where they might have to actually defend their own points of view:

“A very narrow majority” of the 806 adult Virginia residents polled said they think colleges and universities should emphasize “protecting everyone on campus from discrimination, even if it means there are negative consequences for voicing one’s opinions.”

Just 40 percent of the poll participants said colleges and universities should emphasize “allowing everyone on campus to have unlimited freedom of expression, even if it means some groups of people may face discrimination.”

Now mind you, one person’s “discrimination” is another person’s difference of opinion. Leftists have portrayed President Donald J. Trump’s travel ban from six terrorism-infested countries as a “discriminatory Muslim ban” when it is nothing of the sort, for example. And his upcoming decision to reverse President Obama’s very unconstitutional DACA program is going to be considered “racist” and “discriminatory” by the Left when again, it’s nothing of the kind.

It is genuinely shocking to see a majority — or even a very large plurality — of Virginians favor shutting down speech simply because they disagree with it.

What would our first president — Virginian and founding father George Washington — think about that?

Make Americans work again: Majority support work requirements for Medicaid

(National SentinelWelfare Reform: During the Clinton administration, Congress passed legislation that required able-bodied Americans receiving welfare benefits to have some form of employment, mostly as a way to save taxpayers money but also to promote greater self-reliance.

It worked; some 3 million Americans were moved off the government dole.

President Obama, however, did away with that requirement on his way to becoming, in Newt Gingrich’s words, the “food stamp president.” But a new survey found that a majority of Americans believe work requirements should definitely be implemented for those who are physically and mentally able to hold a job.

As reported by Breitbart News:

A new poll revealed on Monday that 51 percent of voters support work requirements for Medicaid, while 37 percent of percent of American voters oppose the measure.

Sixty-seven percent of Republicans approve of work requirements in exchange for Medicaid, while 52 percent of Democrats oppose the measure. Forty-six percent of independents support work requirements, while 36 percent of them do not approve.

Currently, no state Medicaid program has work requirements. however, many states have submitted waivers to the Trump administration to allow them to implement work requirements for able-bodied adults without children.

“Liberals and Democrats tend to view Medicaid as a government insurance program and conservatives and Republicans view it as a welfare program, and as a welfare benefit for which there should be a reciprocal obligation,” said Drew Altman, a chief executive at the Kaiser Family Foundation.

The survey was conducted by polling firm Morning Consult, in conjunction with Politico. You can see it here.

Recently, Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin, a Republican, asked the Trump administration to re-impose work requirements for able-bodied welfare recipients. He said his state would require that able-bodied adults without dependents work at least 20 hours a week to qualify for Medicaid. Kentucky’s waiver would also lock out Medicaid recipients for six months if they get a new job or a new salary without notifying the state.

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, who ran for president last year but dropped out early, also believes work requirements would help save taxpayers money and make citizens more productive.

“We should treat public assistance more like a trampoline than a hammock,” Walker said, as quoted by Breitbart News.

Survey: A majority of Americans support Trump’s ‘merit-based’ immigration overhaul

(National SentinelImmigration: Some political observers, analysts, and pundits believe Donald J. Trump managed to win the presidency based on a small core of issues — among them, his desire to implement “America first” immigration reform.

Last week Trump joined two U.S. senators, Tom Cotton of Arkansas and David Purdue of Georgia, to introduce the RAISE Act, a true immigration reform measure that would implement a merit-based points system and require new immigrants to learn English, among other things.

This is a piece of legislation that Americans overwhelmingly support. As reported by the Washington Times:

Americans generally favor a more selective legal immigration system that would reward those who speak English and those who bring desired skills to the U.S., according to a new poll released Wednesday that could boost the new immigration bill President Trump is backing.

The Morning Consult/Politico poll found 62 percent support for giving would-be immigrants who can speak English a leg up, and found 61 percent support for creating a point-based system to select new employer-based immigrants.

Some 54 percent also said they want the government to weigh an immigrant’s need for taxpayer assistance in deciding whether to admit someone.

Cutting the actual total number of legal immigrants from 1.1 million a year to about 500,000 a year is more controversial, with a plurality of 48 percent supporting it and 39 percent opposing it.

And yet, for some reason, too many in Congress are pronouncing this legislation dead on arrival. In fact, Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., actually said there is no way this legislation passes the Senate.

“That bill’s not going to pass,” told CBS 4 in an interview Sunday. “I think the White House knows that you don’t have 60 votes for that in the Senate.”

The question then becomes, “Why not?” Because either we have a representative form of government — or we don’t.

It’s looking more and more like we don’t, especially when it comes to issues that most Americans back, regardless of party. Immigration reform, like getting rid of Obamacare’s onerous rate-hiking rules, is one of those issues.

Trump has his work cut out for him, legislatively. He won’t ever get Democrats to back anything he wants, and he’s having a much harder time than he should be having getting members of his own party on board his agenda.

Still, politicians like “safe” and this piece of legislation looks popular enough that a majority of them may actually be ‘brave enough’ to sign on.

Left-wing attacks backfiring? Trump approval hits 50 percent

(National SentinelPresidential politics: To hear some Democrats tell it, they’ve already won back control of the House and President Donald J. Trump’s presidency will soon end in impeachment; the 2018 elections are just a formality.

Organic-Storable-Food-Supply-MROnly…not so much.

The Alt-Left’s incessant and outrageous attacks on the president appear to be backfiring; the latest approval rating survey has the president at the halfway mark: 50 percent, according to Friday’s Daily Presidential Tracking Poll from Rasmussen Reports, one of two polling firms that correctly predicted Trump’s November election victory.

The president’s approval numbers are moving back up after they fell to a low of 42 percent in April. He took office in January with a high of 59 percent.

Trump celebrated the new milestone on Twitter:

Seems Americans are getting behind the president as he is mercilessly – and dishonestly – attacked by the disgusting media and political establishment. So by all means, Democrats, keep the hate machine cranked up.

College ‘snowflakes’ all want safe spaces? Not according to this new survey

(National SentinelHigher Education: Many Americans have been conditioned by the disgusting “mainstream media” to believe there is near-universal acceptance of, and demand for, so-called “safe spaces” on college campuses – refuges where the little snowflakes can all go to in order to escape speech, political ideology and expressed thoughts they disagree with.

chief-organics-msmIn the real world, however, that’s not the case at all. In fact, a new survey found that a solid majority of American college and university students have little use for them.

As reported by The Daily Signal:

Sixty-two percent of students did not agree with or felt indifferent to safe spaces, according to a poll of 1,659 current college students taken by LendEDU, a student loan consolidation and refinancing organization. Of those surveyed, 37 percent agreed that safe spaces “are completely out of touch with reality” and 25 percent said they were indifferent. Thirty-six percent said they felt safe spaces are “absolutely necessary”.

Perhaps worse than anything is that these artificial enclaves of ‘security’ are being championed by moronic university administrators, who are now complicit in graduating a generation of college graduates who have no real-world coping skills whatsoever:

Some university presidents, such as Morton Schapiro of Northwestern University, say they believe that safe spaces are essential to collegiate learning.

“The best hope we have of creating an inclusive community is to first create spaces where members of each group feel safe” Schapiro wrote for The Washington Post.

Schapiro also spoke to new Northwestern freshmen on safe spaces in September 2016.

“‘The people who decry safe spaces do it from their segregated housing places, from their jobs without diversity—they do it from their country clubs … ‘It just drives me nuts,’” Schapiro said, according to The Daily Northwestern, the university’s news publication.

No, moron, it is you who are sequestered – tucked away in your ivory tower with your $1.25 million annual pay and tenured job status. Most Americans who are disgusted by “safe spaces” and the idiots who created and espouse them don’t have country club memberships, segregated housing, diversity-free jobs – or million-dollar-plus salaries.

And now we know that most college students don’t agree with Schapiro, either, making him even more out of touch with most Americans and reality.

Most Americans think Leftist ‘establishment media’ is committing treason by publishing classified info

(National SentinelMedia: As the Trump administration works to tamp down the deluge of leaks from the Deep State and even some White House operatives to the disgusting “establishment” media, Americans have spoken on the issue: Most think publishing such information constitutes treason.

A new survey by Rasmussen Reports found that 53 percent of Americans believe that, while less than one-in-three (30 percent) thought so and 18 percent had no opinion.

More – not surprisingly, it’s a partisan issue:

But while 73% of Republicans consider the leaking of classified information which plagues the Trump administration as treasonous, only half as many Democrats (36%) feel that way now.

Still, Rasmussen found, “Voters not affiliated with either major party agree by a 50% to 27% margin that the leaks are an act of treason.”

Fifty-eight percent (58%) of voters said in February that the leakers should be prosecuted.

Our position on this is clear: It is treasonous because very often the information published directly helps an adversary – provides them with “aid and comfort,” if you will.

On May 26 we reported one of the most recent examples:

A pair of reports published by The New York Times this week proves once again that in the era of #NeverTrump, Americans of all political persuasions are being put at risk by the irresponsible “mainstream” media.

In this story, the Times published alleged comments that President Donald J. Trump made in a conversation with Philippines leader Rodrigo Duterte, in which the president said the U.S. Navy has “two nuclear submarines” parked off the coast of North Korea.

If you’ve been following developments there regarding the deployment of U.S. military assets, you know that an Ohio-class cruise missile submarine, the USS Michigan — one of four nuclear-powered subs carrying up to 154 Tomahawk missiles — docked in South Korea in late April, bolstering the strike power of the USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier strike group.

Now, however, thanks to the Times, the North Koreans now know that at least twoof those submarines are actually deployed to the region.

The Times went on to note that the comments it published came from a Philippine transcript of the April 29 call that was “confidential.” What’s more, the paper even admitted that the U.S. also keeps transcripts of these kinds of leader-to-leader calls, “but they are routinely kept secret [emphasis added].”

The Times also recently divulged sensitive information in the Manchester terrorist bombing of the Ariana Grande concert, a breach so bad the UK government said it would consider withholding intelligence information with the U.S.

The American people did not have “a right to know” the plans for the D-Day invasion or those of thousands of intelligence operations that have taken place since then. Why? Because publishing details of those ops would compromise them and get Americans killed.

Just because the Left-wing media has “decided” it doesn’t like President Donald J. Trump is no good reason to compromise the country’s national security by publishing every sensitive detail discussed in his presence.

Majority of unemployed Americans want Obamacare repealed, border wall built

(National SentinelEmployment: A majority of out-of-work Americans are hoping that Congress repeals Obamacare and funds construction of a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, according to a new survey by Express Employment Professionals.

As reported by the Washington Free Beacon:

The group surveyed 1,500 Americans age 18 and older who were unemployed from March 14 to April 6. Although most of those surveyed favored Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton over Republican Donald Trump in the election, they expressed support for conservative policies such as repealing the Affordable Care Act and limiting illegal immigration.

Thirty-five percent of those polled voted for Hillary Clinton, 25 percent voted for Donald Trump, 34 percent didn’t vote, and the remainder voted for Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson or Green candidate Jill Stein.

Only 20 percent of the unemployed currently have insurance under Obamacare, yet 57 percent say they want to repeal it. Forty-three percent of the unemployed said they want it to stay.

In addition, 58 percent of the unemployed said it would be easier to find a job if there was less illegal immigration while 42 percent did not agree.

“While Democrats and Republicans seem to be polarized, the views of the unemployed appear to be much more mixed,” said Bob Funk, CEO of Express Employment Professionals. “Among unemployed Americans who voted, Hillary Clinton was the clear winner, but in general the unemployed are expressing opinions on health care and immigration that might put them more in line with President Trump.”

The unemployed are one of those groups of people lawmakers claim to care the most about, but whose policies often hurt the most.

Guess who loves Trump now? Hispanics

(NationalSentinelPolitics: We abhor identity politics, but unfortunately too many politicos in D.C. and the entire Democratic Party count on it and employ it as a way to empower themselves. So we have to play along.

That said, a new survey indicates there is growing support for President Donald J. Trump – the racist bigot – among Hispanics, the one ethnic group that is supposed to be universally against him because he dares to enforce all immigration laws.

As reported by Breitbart News:

A stunning new poll shows that Hispanic support for President Donald Trump has grown to 45 percent since his election.

“The biggest surprise in this new poll is Trump’s approval among Hispanic voters, which is at 45 percent approval/51 percent disapproval,”  Zogby said. “In February the numbers were less among Hispanics at 39 percent approval/53 percent disapproval.”

In November, Trump won roughly 29 percent of the Latino vote.

It is not clear why Trump’s support has risen among Latinos. But a series of polls stretching back to 2014 show that many Hispanics strongly support more border security to protect their communities from crime and low-wage labor. For example, a poll of Latinos taken in June 2014 showed “77 percent [support] for an e-verify system for employers [and] 78 percent for stronger border security.” The 2014 poll of 800 registered Latinos was funded by FWD.us, an advocacy group supported by Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

While the same survey showed Trump’s overall approval rating drop, it has increased somewhat among Independents.

“Support among Independent voters has increased from 43% to 46% approval,” Zogby wrote. “A majority of younger voters (18-29 years old) disapprove (53%), while 39% of younger voters approve of Trump’s job as president. These numbers were identical three months ago.”

Also, the survey shows that Trump’s core supporters are still with him.

In any event, the poll’s findings are significant insofar as they tell a story that runs afoul of the Left-wing narrative that Trump’s support among Hispanics is negligible, and that the ethnic group is owned by the Democratic Party.
